Angel Studios, which built its profile with crowdfunded faith-adjacent content, swings for a broader audience with Solo Mio � and largely succeeds on the strength of Kevin James' commitment to his character's journey. Matt Taylor is a recognizable type: the sweet, slightly ridiculous man who doesn't know what he wants until he loses it, then goes looking in the most beautiful country on earth. The Italian locations are genuinely gorgeous, and director Austin Hamilton uses them with a light touch.
